  1. Access Settings → Siri & Search, make sure “Hey Siri” is active.
  2. Place your iOS device face up. If it’s placed face down, the “Hey Siri” feature won’t work. Also, placing a Smart Cover over your iPad will disable “Hey Siri.”
  3. Most iPads, iPod touch, iPhone 6 and earlier can use “Hey Siri” only when they are plugged into power. iPhone 6s and later models, as well as a 2nd generation 12.9″ iPad Pro, 10.5″ iPad Pro, or 9.7″ iPad Pro can use “Hey Siri” without being plugged into power.
