Installing face identification is a pretty simple process. Right before doing it, ensure that nothing covers the True Depth camera, and your face is clearly seen. Face identification technology can detect glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses, make-up, etc. Place your face at about the length of your arm from the phone or so.

The installation process requires a few plain steps:

  1. Settings → then Face identification and Passcode. Enter the passcode if needed.
  2. Next, install face identification → Put your face in front of your iPhone → Get Started.
  3. Look directly into your device and put your face in the middle of the frame.
  4. Slowly circle your head. In case you are incapable of turning your head go to Accessibility Options.
  5. After the first scan is complete, tap Continue
  6. Repeat the 4th step.
  7. After completion of setup → Done.

As an alternative way of verification, you may need to assign a passcode, in case you haven’t done it earlier.

To reset or select features which you would like to go with face identification: Settings, then Face ID and Passcode.
